Letter to Governor & Legislators

April 28, 2025

RE: HB25-1312, HB25-1309, SB 25-183 and other bills like them.

Dear Governor Polis and Colorado Legislature,

We are writing as pastors from across Colorado out of love for the people of this state and genuine concern for your soul to warn you that God will not be mocked; when you defy the natural universal laws of God, you will suffer the consequences, as may the people you have been entrusted to serve.

As shepherds of the people of Colorado, we have neglected to hold you accountable in the past, but you have awakened the sleeping giant. These bills you are passing are tyrannical, coercive, and abusive of children and the people of Colorado. We are giving you forewarning of a wrath to come unless you repent of your wicked ways and these evil laws that commit treason against the most High God and crimes against humanity, particularly the most vulnerable among us, our children from the moment we are conceived alive in the womb created in the image of a Creator God to whom you will give an account.

It is not the responsibility of government to raise our children nor to tell us how we will raise our children. We answer to a Higher Authority. We will call our children by their given names and we will affirm their natural genders. And we will not censor the Word of God which since antiquity clearly reveals human history that God created only two genders, male and female, to rule over the earth.

"We also have the word of the prophets as confirmed beyond doubt. And you will do well to pay attention to it, as to a lamp shining in a dark place, until the day dawns and the morning star rises in your hearts. Above all, you must understand that no prophecy of Scripture comes from one’s own interpretation. For no such prophecy was ever brought forth by the will of man, but men spoke from God as they were carried along by the Holy Spirit." (2 Peter 1:19-21)

Do you not know that the wicked will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived: Neither the sexually immoral, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor men who submit to or perform homosexual acts, nor thieves, nor the greedy, nor drunkards, nor verbal abusers, nor swindlers, will inherit the kingdom of God.  And that is what some of you were. But you were washed, you were sanctified, you were justified, in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ and by the Spirit of our God. (1 Corinthians 6:9-10)

While there is time, we are exhorting you to repent, to turn around, from the destructive paths you are on that will harm yourselves and anyone who follows you.

“Stop doing evil! Learn to do right; seek justice and correct the oppressor. Defend the fatherless and plead the case of the widow.” (Jeremiah 1:16-17)

Seek good, not evil, so that you may live. (Amos 5:14-15)

We are available to meet with you one-on-one to help lead you in a prayer of repentance before God or to discuss further any questions you may have. We do not intend to carry out any evil against you, but rather, feel it is our responsibility to warn you of your sin against God and humanity because God Himself takes vengeance on behalf of the child in the womb, the destitute mother, and is a defender of orphans which you are intent on creating through these godless, evil laws.

May you repent so that God may have mercy on your soul.

We, the undersigned pastors,
