Repeal 79

Protecting children starts in the womb. Repeal 79 removes abortion from our state Constitution. Official Paper Petition Packets are hand delivered (not available online).

Here are the results of our 6 weeks of efforts to Repeal 79. Thank you to everyone who made such heroic efforts to get this important issue onto the ballot! We are thankful for the pastors and churches that took a stand on behalf of legally protecting our youngest and most vulnerable children, the more than 900 volunteers who circulated more than 2 thousand petitions, and the more than 63 thousand Coloradans who signed the petition! God is raising up leaders across the state! Will your church and community be ready if we get another opportunity?

Repeal 79 - Background

It is a biological and theological fact that we are living human beings from the moment we are conceived with our own unique DNA that replicates into every cell of our body. About the time a mother finds out she's pregnant, our heart starts beating and will continue for our lifetime. By seven weeks, we will move away from touch to our delicate skin. Children in the womb have faces, arms, legs, fingerprints, can feel pain and joy, and have a lot of love and hope to bring into the world. Amendment 79 removed any protections from these children and opened the door for more than $5 million dollars in Colorado taxpayer funds to pay for abortion torture of preborn children all nine months of pregnancy within the state and coming from other states.

Currently, preborn children are only protected in the state of Colorado to the degree that their mothers choose to protect them. The many layers of natural protections ordained by God to protect children - fathers, marriage, families, church, community and law - have been stripped away, as the ability to murder a preborn child by any mother and any abortionist - for any reason or no reason at all other than they want to- is protected by law as a so-called "right" in the state Constitution, allowing the legalized murder of our youngest and most vulnerable children.

Only the people of Colorado may change our state constitution through a ballot initiative. A ballot initiative requires signatures from each Senate District across the state to get the issue onto the ballot in front of Colorado voters. Until voters remove abortion from our state Constitution, the legislature cannot legally put in place laws to protect them.

After nine attempts, three appeals, and two cases before the Colorado Supreme Court, we were granted at the last possible moment the ability to gather signatures from Colorado voters to get a repeal onto the Colorado ballot. We do not take this win lightly. With your help, we are praying and working in faith to get this onto this year's ballot November 2026. To be able to get on the ballot will be a win for children in Colorado!

Repeal 79 - Why it's Possible

First and most importantly, we serve a God with whom all things are possible.

Secondly, we've done our homework. Here are the numbers:

  • According to Pew Research, 54% of Colorado adults identify as Christian.

  • We need only 50% plus one vote to pass a direct repeal in the state.

  • If Christians vote - and vote Biblically - Christians could pass any initiative in the state. There are also people who do not identify as Christian who believe we should not murder innocent children.

We are praying and working to mobilize Christians in the state of Colorado. When the church - Christ followers - decide this holocaust will end, it will end. Christ is the head and we are His hands and feet. So while we pray to God for these children, He is asking us to carry out His will on earth.

As believers, we are not called to be downstream from culture, we are called to lead it, to change it, to influence it, to stand firmly in the truth, speak the truth in love and with grace, and plant the seeds of truth we want to harvest.

Petitioning provides opportunities to speak with neighbors, friends, and family members about the importance of protecting our youngest and most vulnerable children and replacing the layers of protections for women and children of men, marriage, family, the church, and law.

With all the conservative momentum this election cycle, everyone voting on the life issue and for life-affirming candidates can vote for other conservative issues, as well!

The State Task Force, Regional Team Leads, and volunteers across the state are collecting signatures to make the ballot this election cycle. We are asking everyone who cares about these children to please fill as many petitions as possible as quickly as possible in churches and communities so that we can keep a running total of signatures by Senate District. Our goal for the state is 5,000 volunteers. Every Senate District needs at least 125 petitions filled and turned into the Co-Proponents before July 27, 2026.

While this direct repeal of Amendment 79, the abortion amendment, will not end abortion in Colorado, it will get abortion out of our state Constitution. This is the first step toward legally ending child sacrifice in our state to protect all children. As God's timing would have it, petitions were ready for distribution Mother's Day.

Making the ballot in Colorado would be a victory for children! With 50% plus one vote in November, this repeal will go into effect December 25, 2026.
