A War Won With Words
Updated: 7 hours ago
The death industry has spread its propaganda through slogans. Those slogans quickly crumble with the truth.
We can win this war with words. We can stop the slaughter of innocent children through our speech. How we speak about children matters. They are not blobs of tissue or fetuses, they are human beings. They are sons and daughters. They are grandchildren. And they deserve to live.
When a woman is pregnant, she is with child. She is already a mother. And her child has only one life to live. Whether it's convenient, planned, or scary, the child is already created. And for those of us who know there is a God, we can trust God with their creation. We can leave room for miracles. We can embrace children with love.
Moral decay is the root cause of the death industry and fed by it. We have confused love with lust. We have told children to follow their heart which is naturally wicket. Media has told us the most important thing is personal happiness, not loving God and others, not treating others as we would like to be treated, not one's character or the eternal destination of one's soul.
We've allowed our schools to teach myths of millions of years and macro evolution rather than the truth of creation and a Creator who loves them. Our children's biology textbooks show only until the fifth week of embryonic development, comparing our human offspring to fish.
By the time young women enter college, they may have already sacrificed their first child. They may have already lost their first love. They are taught by college professors that self-actualization, not love, is the highest achievement.
We can stop teaching that. We can share the truth in our Sunday School classes. We can open Scripture to preach the humanity of the preborn child from the pulpit. We can rewrite our textbooks. We can retrain our teachers.
Medical schools, seminaries, colleges, and elementary school students can know the humanity of a child. And when they do, it will change the way they treat their patients, their parishioners, and their own children.
Rather than focus on the death industry, we can defeat it by speaking the truth in love. The truth that sets free with love so they can hear us.
"The tongue has the power of life and death..." (Proverbs 18:21)
"There is a way that seems right to a man, But its end is the way of death." (Proverbs 14:12)
“The heart is deceitful above all things, And desperately wicked; Who can know it? (Jeremiah 17:9)
"So He said to the Jews who had believed Him, “If you continue in My word, you are truly My disciples. Then you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.” (John 8:31-32)
"If I speak in the tongues of men and of angels, but have not love, I am only a ringing gong or a clanging cymbal." (1 Corinthians 13:1)
