Something missing from our prayers?

As God's people, we are called to repent. Maybe not a popular topic, but we need to turn from our wicked ways. We must renew our minds from thinking that allowing even one innocent child to be murdered is ok. It's not. It's evil.

Sin separates us from our God and makes our love grow cold. We need to confess our sin to God and turn away from our idolatry and the child sacrifice we allow that brings judgement on nations if we do not repent.

Some promises of God do not depend on us, but some do. Healing our land is conditional on our repentance. Notice the "If" and "then" in the following verse:

"if my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and I will

forgive their sin and will heal their land." (2 Chronicles 7:14)

In all our prayers for our leaders and our country, let's not forget the prayer God hears first from a repentant heart.
