The Choice is Ours

The choice is ours whether or not to save the lives of thousands of children in Colorado. While the pressure is typically put on the woman – pregnant mother – to choose whether she will protect or take away the life of her child, the bigger choice is ours. She has one, maybe a few, lives to consider, whereas you and I have literally thousands of children's lives hanging in the balance. We decide who lives and who dies through the laws we create - or leave as they are.
What are the lives of thousands of children really worth to us? What are we willing to sacrifice to save them?
A cup of coffee?
A few hours of time?
Talking with a neighbor?
Some volunteers sacrifice their incomes to do this full-time. Other volunteers spend all their vacation hours, evenings, and weekends to work to protect these children. While still other life warriors give generously every month to put forward a law to end abortion in our state. Are these youngest children "the least of these" that Jesus spoke about?
Jesus said, ‘Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me.’ (Matthew 25:40)
Just as every member of the body of Christ is necessary and needed in the church, so all efforts to protect and save these children are important and needed. All efforts matter when protecting these children- sidewalk counseling, pregnancy care centers, modern adoption agencies, prayer, educational efforts, holding legislators accountable, preaching from the pulpit what Scripture says about child sacrifice and just laws, leading congregations to understand the value of protecting innocent lives, and putting compassion into law!
We can put our compassion into law through a ballot initiative that does not depend on the legislature or governor. We can protect literally thousands of children who would die without it! Once we change the law so that all abortion clinics are closed and abortion pills are illegal, pregnancy care and women's care will still be needed.
While ministry to mothers and children are on-going, we have a brief window of time (six months, or less) to gather signatures to change the law in Colorado. With enough signatures, these proposed changes will be on the ballot in 2026, allowing for public conversations around the humanity and protection of these children and how every abortion intentionally kills a child and harms their mothers.
Statistics show us that with every life amendment on the ballot in Colorado, more voters are voting in favor of life! [1]

According to both the Charlotte Lozier and Guttmacher Institutes, every time a "personhood" amendment makes the ballot in Colorado, abortions go down in the state by ten percent (10%)! [2]

While sidewalk counselors, pregnancy care centers, and modern adoption agencies all have important roles, once we close abortion death mills and stop abortion pills through a legal means to stop them (a law), women will receive the real helps that they need.
Instead of a few women wandering into a pregnancy center, or the mothers whose babes are saved outside the doors of an abortion clinic, all babies and all pregnant mothers can be saved! When children are legally protected from abortion, their mothers are protected from potential coercion and the harms of abortion, too!
What voters need to know to potentially change their vote for life:
(1) The humanity of preborn children,
(2) What an abortion is/does to a child (and to their mothers), and
(3) Resources available that make every abortion unnecessary.
Whether everyone agrees on the "strategy" of putting forward a good law we all say we want, or not, hopefully everyone can agree to use this as an opportunity to get this information out to the public!
Just as my husband plants and waters corn to harvest a corn crop, when we speak the truth in love and take actions in-keeping with our own repentance for the lives of these children, God promises that we will "reap what we sow". And God doesn't lie! So, let's sow good seeds of truth and actions in faith! After all, Jesus already promised us that "the gates of hell cannot prevail."
We don't storm gates with good intentions. We cannot win wars with good strategies without boots on the ground. To plant seeds of doubt with one's words that discourage others, or to have a defeatist attitude to excuse oneself from putting forward effort, only sows weeds for the enemy.
Scripture clearly instructs:
Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap. (Galatians 6:7, KJV)
Isn't it time to put our faith into action? Isn't it time to support laws that agree with what we say we believe? Isn't it time that our words and actions become consistent with the goal we say we want, regardless of the inconsistencies in others? Let the devil advocate for himself! Let's speak LIFE over our state!
Let's speak truth and life and be salt and light in a world that cannot tell between right and wrong, good and evil. Let's support God-honoring efforts and give God all the glory. For we can do nothing by clever strategies unless they proceed from the headship and mind of Christ. We can do nothing without God. But with God, all things are possible. (Luke 18:27)
And let us consider how to spur one another on to love and good deeds. (Hebrews 10:24)
When we support efforts to protect children, we are educating those around us. We are growing momentum for the movement. We are drawing more people to the truth that sets them free. We are honoring God and loving our neighbors as ourselves. We are providing opportunity for our fellow Christian citizens to repent from this evil to protect the most vulnerable among us.
Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up. (Galatians 6:9, KJV)
When killing a child before they can be born becomes illegal, children's lives will be saved, abortion clinics will be closed, and parents will get the real helps that they need. And after these few months of hard work collecting signatures and encouraging everyone we know to vote to protect them, we can move on to other important ways to protect children and enjoy whatever other priorities God has placed on our lives. Until then, there is a holocaust that we can legally end. And it will take each of us - all of us - to end it.
So it is not the will of my Father who is in heaven that one of these little ones should perish. (Matthew 18:14)
