Government Leaders: If You Know the Truth...

Updated: Feb 21

By Angela Eicher

With caucus just around the corner, candidates are out speaking, campaigning, and

debating to earn their party’s nomination. All of them have talents, skills, and great

ideas to improve the dire state of our state. Many proclaim to be inspired and led by

God in their efforts, and all of them say they want to return to following the Constitution.

However, very few have mentioned a commitment to unequivocally defend the basic

right to life…..the right upon which all other rights find their source and their fulfillment.

If our Declaration of Independence be true, this right was literally and unarguably

endowed by our Creator. It is the right which transcends all eras and all forms of

government.

The state of Colorado grants everyone the "right" to kill children before birth and allows physicians to help their patients commit suicide. No government can grant such a "right" and by pretending to do so they have placed themselves ahead of God, becoming their own idol and deceiving millions of people in the process. If we cannot give God the beginning and end of life, what makes us think we can get the middle right? There is a lot in the middle going wrong in Colorado currently. Those running for public office speak of concerns with pedophilia, the growing sex industry, the cartel infiltration, the mismanagement of funds, the poor roads, and the cancelled elections. These are all atrocities which need to be stopped and stopped immediately, but they are all secondary to the basic right to life. To address these noble issues but to fail to defend life is akin to fixing the windows, doors, and flooring of a home but failing to repair the crumbling foundation which will destroy the entire structure. When we say we want to defend the rights in the Constitution but fail to mention first the basic right to life, we make fools of ourselves and we mock God. We seek to build a house on the sand rather than the rock.

Jesus says He is the way, the truth, and the life. So, if you know Him, please defend

Him. If God has granted you the gift of public leadership and put you in a position of

authority where people trust you and look to you for guidance, then please proclaim

Him. If God has given you a stage, please defend life boldly because people are listening to you. They are forming their views based on what you tell them and how you defend it. Coloradans are confused and hurting when it comes to the right to life. Will you help them understand it? Will you give them the words to defend it? Not only is it “good” to tell Coloradans that, above all, life is sacred from conception to natural death, whether they agree or not, it is actually necessary to tell them. As Christians, it is part of our Great Commission. Everyone deserves the opportunity to know this truth and understand it. So why mostly silence from the candidates? I do not know. Let’s pray for them, and let’s ask them.

I believe that those who know the truth are afraid to stand up for the basic right to life because they fear losing the votes of those who disagree. We pray God give them boldness and clear speech to tear down every argument of the enemy. God tells

us again and again to have no fear, and He warns us not to deny Him. Let us pray they

leave their fear behind like the fishermen abandoned their nets to follow Jesus. Likely

other candidates do not know the truth about life, or do not understand it as foundational.

Let us pray God grant them wisdom and clear vision. May they know that Jesus came

so they might have life and have it abundantly. This is an urgent request

for prayers and fasting for God’s mercy. Thanks so much and may God Bless you all!!!
