More Ways to Save Children's Lives

6 min read

These children are in a fight for their lives. The problem is they cannot fight. They cannot resist the abortion instrument and the bully trying to kill them. They can cry out for their mamma but she does not hear them. They want to live, to be loved, to come into the light. They don't want to be rejected and abandoned. They don't want to be tortured to death. Just because they get oxygen through an umbilical cord doesn't mean they are less living. (Is an astronaut less alive because they depend on a tube to their oxygen tank?)

These children deserve to live. They are worth saving. They are a gift from God. The first born belongs to God, not to be sacrificed to demons. Will we save them? Will we protect them legally like we ourselves want to be protected by law? Or does it take too much time, too much money, or too much effort? Is it just easier not to care? To hope someone else out there will do something?

Should we just abort the mission to save them? Shall we just keep talking about how "prolife" we are, how awful Colorado laws are, and do nothing to change it? Maybe pursue something that doesn't require changing the constitution, so that murdering preborn children may remain protected in law, but we don't have to feel guilty about it?

We know the model works because it worked to get three initiatives onto this year’s ballot for older children; we just need more people to care as much about the same children when they are younger.

There is encouraging movement across the United States, as for the first time in American history, a preborn child has been awarded as a person by the courts in a wrongful death suit, and states are beginning to recognize preborn children as persons under the law.

If democrats are elected to the U.S. Congress, they already have plans to put into law abortion all nine months of pregnancy nationwide.

MORE WAYS TO SAVE LIVES

Here are other ways you may wish to get involved to help save the lives of children:

  1. Teach grades 3 through college the biology of human development in the womb. Use fetal models and humanizing terms like: “children during embryonic and fetal development”, “he or she” (not “it”), “sons and daughters”, and “babies” or “infants” and “preborn children” or “children waiting to be born” (rather than “unborn” or “fetus”). Information on fetal development may be found in the CHOOSE magazine.

  2. Present in a seminary, medical school, law school, or in a college campus about the humanity of these children and our responsibility before God to protect them legally.

  3. Present in your pulpit, Bible study, or youth group the humanity of these children and our responsibility before God to put in place just laws that God can bless. You may use our free online church toolkit “5-Minute Sundays”.

  4. Use a survey on your local college campus to open discussions about the humanity of preborn children and our responsibility before God to protect them under the law.

  5. Review biology textbooks in your local school district and show school board members the flaws and corrections needed, including one-hundred-year-old drawings comparing children to evolving tadpoles and lack of photographs beyond five weeks gestation. Show a PowerPoint presentation and give fetal models to school board members.

  6. Take a group of people from church to the nearest abortion death facility to pray – be sure to put on the whole armor of God. Train churchgoers how to reach women and men entering the facility to pay abortionists to kill their children.

  7. Start a support group within your church for women and men in need of grace and healing from a past elective abortion. Speak to the congregation about applying the gospel to that very deep and emotional wound.

  8. Train church members how to help women and men facing overwhelming challenges while pregnant. Share Scriptures with the congregation on the topic.

  9. Throw a baby shower for a single mother. Deal with private sins privately and celebrate publicly God’s gift of a child.

  10. Find opportunities to talk with neighbors, friends, coworkers, and family members about living human beings in the womb. Change vocabulary from “mother-to-be” to “mother” and “father”, and from “unplanned” or “crisis” to “challenges while pregnant” and “God’s gift of pregnancy”.

  11. Volunteer at your local pregnancy care center. Make sure that your pregnancy center shares the gospel and does not present abortion as an equal option to childbirth. An effective pregnancy center will share the risks of abortion procedures and drugs if a woman is already considering it but otherwise will celebrate with a pregnant mother the options of childbirth or placing a child in a loving home through adoption and provide up to everything a mother needs to bring her baby home without placing undue burden on her. There are many ways men and women may volunteer a few hours weekly or monthly for a pregnancy help center, such as serving as a receptionist, teaching childbirth and parenting classes, providing advocacy, washing clothes and organizing a boutique, helping with thank you notes, speaking in a church or sharing in a school, etc. Pregnancy care centers typically offer training, as do several national organizations. Visit our website for a pregnancy center near you.

  12. To keep yourself encouraged and equipped, sign up to receive my monthly blog, visit the information on the website, and stay strong in your relationship with Christ through daily time in His Word, seeking Him in prayer, and weekly worship, fellowship, and Bible study with fellow believers who are evangelizing, discipling, and growing together in the faith.

  13. Find out what your church believes about ending the current holocaust and if they care enough to act by announcing and gathering signatures to change law to protect our youngest and most vulnerable children. If your church leadership is not willing to announce and collect signatures, prayerfully consider where other areas of theology may be lacking and where God would have you worship. If your secular political organization does not support gathering signatures to legally protect preborn children, you might want to prayerfully reconsider where you can have the most impact.

Please continue to pray and work in faith on behalf of children in this state. Please keep your focus on Christ and “whatever is pure and lovely and of good repute”.   Let’s not focus on the death industry, but on the beauty, joy, and love God brings into the world through every child. “From the mouths of babes, ordained praise.” ()

As exhausted as I have been these last several months, I am encouraged by the words, “Do not grow weary in doing good, …”

Fatigue is real. The enemy would like us to pack up and go home and move onto other things. But we cannot give up. We are closer to victory than we have ever been. We need to catch our breath, but we cannot quit. Please take time to be refreshed in the Lord.

Once we are able to recruit leaders in each of the 35 Senate Districts, we expect that it will not be too much for anyone, but rather, with everyone pulling together, we can repeal abortion death from our state and put the right to life back where it belongs.

May we never give up until every child is legally protected.

Because every child deserves a birthday and every child is worth saving,

Here are some sample survey questions:

  1. Did you know it is a biological fact that we are living human beings from the moment we are conceived?

FACT: 96% of embryologists agree we are living human beings from the moment we are conceived. We have all the criteria for being alive: growing (within 24 hours), responding to stimuli (implantation), etc.

  2. Do you believe all living human beings who are innocent under the law should enjoy protections under the law including a right to live? If not, who should decide who gets to live and die?

  3. Where do you think the right to live comes from?

  4. Would you like to know how to enjoy life and life abundantly?

  5. Do you know what love is? (selfless agape love like Christ giving his own life)

  6. What is the opposite of love? (selfishness)

  7. Is taking away a child's only life (while still in the womb) love or the opposite of love?

  8. Have you ever seen a model of a child in the womb?

  9. When do you think your heart started beating? (21 days from conception)

  10. When do you think you became alive? (conception – two gametes, flash of light – all the prerequisites for living)
